For the week starting Sunday, April 27th

April 27
Any attempt to shift parental responsibility to state or church will prove suicidal to the welfare and advancement of civilization.
April 28
Marriage, with children and consequent family life, is stimulative of the highest potentials in human nature.
April 29
The family is the fundamental unit of fraternity in which parents and children learn those lessons of patience, altruism, tolerance, and forbearance which are so essential to the realization of brotherhood among all men.
April 30
Remember, even if prayer does not change God, it very often effects great and lasting changes in the one who prays in faith and confident expectation.
The Urantia Book, p. 998, par. 3

May 1
Prayer has been the ancestor of much peace of mind, cheerfulness, calmness, courage, self-mastery, and fair-mindedness in the men and women of the evolving races.
May 2
If you truly desire to overcome the habit of criticizing some friend, the quickest and surest way of achieving such a change of attitude is to establish the habit of praying for that person every day of your life.
May 3
Those who are God-conscious without symbolism must not deny the grace-ministry of the symbol to those who find it difficult to worship Deity and to revere truth, beauty, and goodness without form and ritual.
The Urantia Book, p. 999, par. 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the week starting Sunday, May 4th

May 4
Prayer has turned many an irritable and complaining invalid into a paragon of patience and made him an inspiration to all other human sufferers.
May 5
Do not be so slothful as to ask God to solve your difficulties, but never hesitate to ask him for wisdom and spiritual strength to guide and sustain you while you yourself resolutely and courageously attack the problems at hand.
May 6
Pray as Jesus taught his disciples--honestly, unselfishly, with fairness, and without doubting.
May 7
God answers the soul's attitude, not the words.
May 8
Prayer is not a technique of escape from conflict but rather a stimulus to growth in the very face of conflict.
May 9
Pray only for values, not things; for growth, not for gratification.
May 10
Civilization, science, and advanced religions must deliver mankind from those fears born of the dread of natural phenomena.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the week starting Sunday, May 11th

May 11
Man's greatest spiritual jeopardy consists in partial progress, the predicament of unfinished growth: forsaking the evolutionary religions of fear without immediately grasping the revelatory religion of love.
May 12
Any religious belief which is effective in spiritualizing the believer is certain to have powerful repercussions in the social life of such a religionist.
May 13
Religious experience unfailingly yields the "fruits of the spirit" in the daily life of the spirit-led mortal.
May 14
Religion inspires man to live courageously and joyfully on the face of the earth; it joins patience with passion, insight to zeal, sympathy with power, and ideals with energy.
May 15
Religion ennobles the commonplace drudgery of daily living.
May 16
Some persons are too busy to grow and are therefore in grave danger of spiritual fixation.
May 17
The chief inhibitors of growth are prejudice and ignorance.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the week starting Sunday, May 18th

May 18
Give every developing child a chance to grow his own religious experience; do not force a ready-made adult experience upon him.
May 19
Growth is not truly indicated by mere products but rather by progress. Real educational growth is indicated by enhancement of ideals, increased appreciation of values, new meanings of values, and augmented loyalty to supreme values.
May 20
Children are permanently impressed only by the loyalties of their adult associates; precept or even example is not lastingly influential.
May 21
Live loyally today--grow--and tomorrow will attend to itself. The quickest way for a tadpole to become a frog is to live loyally each moment as a tadpole.
May 22
Religion cannot be bestowed, received, loaned, learned, or lost. It is a personal experience which grows proportionally to the growing quest for final values.
May 23
Spiritual growth is first an awakening to needs, next a discernment of meanings, and then a discovery of values.
May 24
Spirit-born individuals are so remotivated in life that they can calmly stand by while their fondest ambitions perish and their keenest hopes crash.
The Urantia Book, p. 1096, par. 5

The Urantia Book, p. 1097, par. 5
*
May 28
Religious perplexities are inevitable; there can be no growth without psychic conflict and spiritual agitation.
The Urantia Book, p. 1097, par. 6

Thoughts to Ponder - Talking About God And Spirituality

Do It Anyway
Mother Theresa
People are often unreasonable, illogical,
And self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you
Of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
False friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank;
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis
it is between you and God
It was never between you and them anyway

I agree that it is wrong to try to tell someone else how to worship God. God said to worship Him in sprit and in truth. Other than that People are not the ones to say you have to worship my way or no way.
